Dr. Raju Pakalapati is a distinguished alumnus of NIT Srinagar, where he graduated as a top-ranked student in Chemical Engineering. Driven by a deep passion for academics and research, he pursued his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in the United States.
Following a brief postdoctoral research assignment, Dr. Raju Pakalapati joined ExxonMobil, where he built a distinguished career spanning over 27 years. During his tenure, he served in several high-impact technical and engineering management roles, contributing to both field operations and advanced technical support initiatives.
His career uniquely bridges rigorous academic engineering expertise with extensive real-world production experience. Having worked across upstream field production and advanced engineering functions, he developed the ability to apply deep technical rigor to complex, practical field challenges — a rare and valuable combination in the energy sector.
Dr. Pakalapati’s professional journey includes extensive assignments across the United States — including Texas, Louisiana, California, and Mississippi — as well as international experience in Russia, West Africa, Iraq, Angola, and the broader Middle East. This global exposure has equipped him with a strong understanding of diverse operating environments, cross-cultural collaboration, and large-scale project execution.
Beyond his technical achievements, Dr. Pakalapati is deeply committed to mentoring and developing young engineers. Throughout his career, he has guided early-career professionals in building technical confidence, leadership capability, and strategic thinking skills. Talent development remains one of his core passions.
Outside his professional life, Dr. Pakalapati is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast, an active pickle ball player, and a lover of Carnatic music. He also has a deep interest in spirituality and draws inspiration from the wisdom found across global traditions — perspectives that shape his balanced and integrative approach to leadership and life.
Today, in addition to serving as an independent consultant, he has founded Integral Excellence, an initiative dedicated to mentoring engineering students and young professionals to excel both professionally and personally.
